Photography

My work lies somewhere between dreams and documentation. I’m concerned with the experimentation of photographic tools that create the possibility for looking and seeing in alternative ways. In both photographing and printing, the tools I use are often home made from various found materials including leaves, wood, glass and paper etc. These techniques often result in the images becoming abstract, multi-layered and distorted. I’m interested in combining old photographic techniques with contemporary technology. In my practice I often connect the digital and electronic elements with traditional art and analogue devices.

As each artistic medium borrows from one another, combining them often results in deeper expression. In my artistic practice I’m trying to explore various mediums.

About Me

I am a graphic designer, photographer, visual and installation artist based in Dublin. Having studied at the Institute of Art, Design & Technology in Dun Laoghaire and Ireland’s National College of Art and Design, I am interested in using visual tools and processes to rupture the reality of the everyday, skewing documentary and fiction in order to highlight alternative ways of seeing and experiencing. Over the years my works have been exhibited in many places in Ireland and internationally.
